In what cases is customs clearance of goods required?

The procedure is subject to all goods transported across the borders of the CU countries when exporting from Russia or importing them into the country, regardless of the type of international transportation (road, air, sea, rail or multimodal, i.e. combined, method.

The purpose of customs clearance is to control goods crossing the border in compliance with all the requirements of the legislation of the Customs Code of the EAEU, the provision of the necessary permits and the payment of due payments when importing or exporting goods from the customs territory of the EAEU. Specific requirements depend on the type of FEA participant and the goods to be declared. The task of the customs authority is to prevent the movement of goods prohibited for import or export and to protect the economic interests of the state.

Customs clearance is a key step in the international delivery (transportation) of goods, and it is also important to which product group the goods being moved belong to.
